Originally scheduled to be played in the New Orleans Super Dome, the game had to be moved to the oudoor Tulane Stadium because the Super Dome wasn't ready. The game thus had to be played in the worst weather in Super Bowl history. Scores of Steelers fans transformed the stadium into Three Rivers South. Minnesota was led by 14-year veteran Fran Tankenton, who was playing in his third Super Bowl. The Steelers were led by Terry Bradshaw, and a host of future hall of famers including Franco Harris, Jack Lambert, Mean Joe Greene, Lynn Swann, John Stallworth and others.
